A case of alkaptonuric arthritis of the spine

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of alkaptonuric arthritis in the spine of 56 years old female is presented.
Diagnosis is made by clinical symptoms, various laboratory tests and X-ray findings characteristic to the disease.
Clinical symptoms which have been persisted. for 6 years are the gradually increasing backache, rounded kyphosis and rigidity of the spine which are improved by administrating massive dosage of vitamin- C and prednisolone for two months.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to persue the course of the disease, because of the disruption of the contact with the patient after her discharge from the hospital.
